Our Lake Keowee offers more than 18,000 acres of deep, crystal clear water. Located in the Northwest corner of South Carolina and often referred to as the "Golden Corner," it runs through Oconee and Western Pickens counties. The lake contains over 300 miles of pristine shoreline. The lake is the cleanest in the Eastern United States. Also, Lake Jocassee lies directly above Lake Keowee . The lake contains 7,500 acres of water and has 75 miles of shoreline with depths exceeding 400 feet. Water flows directly from Appalachian streams making the water clear cold and one of the most pristine lakes in the nation. It is surrounded by 40,000 acres of protected area owned by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Referred to as the Jocassee Gorges Wilderness, its purpose is to protect wildlife and create an environment in which families can enjoy for generations to come.
